The Red Hat European Consultancy Programme is designed for companies wishing to develop their Linux and/or Open Source services business. The programme provides potential customers with easy access to on-site services from service providers backed by Red Hat. Service providers also have the commercial benefit of being able to offer Red Hat products to their customers knowing that they are backed by Red Hat's global technical expertise.
There are two membership levels, namely the Red Hat Consultancy Partner and Red Hat Consultancy Associate, outlined below:
Red Hat Consultancy Partner

Typically mid to large sized services providers who can offer a very diverse set of IT services including Red Hat Linux. Services offered are targeted towards customers requiring help with any size of project in terms of size and complexity. A Red Hat Consultancy Partner can be expected to help with the design, integration and deployment of complex Linux systems into a variety of application and operating system environments. They will employee a large number of Red Hat Certified Engineers (RHCE) and will be able to draw upon other internal resources to provide a wide spectrum of technical skills to deliver the required solution.
To be able to deliver these services, a Consultancy Partner will need to see Linux as a core business line. The pre-requistes and standards are set high for Consultancy Partners and they will work closely with Red Hat. Consequently, there will be a restricted number of Consultancy Partners covering each country.

Red Hat Consultancy Associate

Typically small to mid-sized service providers who can offer services suited to companies requiring help on small to medium scale projects with between 1 to 20 days on-site consultancy or ongoing help. Red Hat Consultancy Associates will have a number of Red Hat Certified Engineers (RHCE) on staff who will be responsible for delivering the service and be focused on Linux as a business line.
